Product DescriptionIn 1999, more than ever before, the sound of the clubs was the sound of the charts. A heady mix of trance, house and big beat, it made for a thumping year, and on the Millennium Edition of Ministry of Sound's Annual, Judge Jules and Tall Paul sum it up over the course of two discs. It's an ambitious undertaking, but the pair pull it off: all the hits are here (really: Chemical Brothers' "Hey Boy Hey Girl", Fatboy Slim's "Right Here Right Now", Moloko's "Sing it Back", Eclipse's "Make Me Love You" and Funkstar De Luxe's take on Bob Marley's "Sun is Shining" all manage to show up on the first half of disc one) and most of them come in new mixes that make them easy to listen to again and again. Breaking up the hits are plenty of coulda-beens, shoulda-beens; Judge Jules' picks--like the mix itself--are a bit smoother than Tall Paul's, but anyone seeking to re-create a great 1999 club night should be more than happy with this collection. --Randy Silver Image GalleryClick on a thumbnail on the left to view a larger image on the right.

Product ReviewsCustomers have given The Annual Millennium Edition: Mixed By Judge Jules & Tall Paul an average customer review rating of 4.0 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. Ok but nothing special After listening solidly to Cream Anthems 2000 and loving it, this compilation was a huge let down. I knew that it covered songs from the whole of '99 but by the time I got this, I was already fed up with most of them. Another thing I'm not happy about is the length of the songs, they've gone for lots of short length tracks instead of having a few 5-6 minute anthems. The Judge Jules CD is actually pretty decent but I hated all but about 3 tracks from Tall Paul's effort. It does sum up the year but not as effective as Cream. Great Tunes, Great Mixing, Great Album! There are NO tracks that I skip every time, like with most other albums! The mixing is good and it includes both well known and less known tracks. The only problem is I can't decide which disc I like more! all the best tunes in the dance industry This album is the ultimate guide to clubbing. I'm not going to go on for ages about the exact good and bad points, like the review before mine, but all you need to know is that it's great and loads a fun! phat and phunky this album is illustrious. it is mixed perfectly by judge jules and paul oakenfold. it is worth the money. Brazenly Commercial but great fun THe track list reads like a veritable smorgasbord de fromage. There's more cheese here than at Sainsbury's. Ministry have put together a shamlessly commercial mixture of club and chart hits, which is bound to get them loads of criticism from the Gatecrasher crowd (whose Discotheque album reached the shops just a week after this). They have a point - this is almost a NOW! album. That said, these are the tunes that we remember. The ones to which we really lost it, in Ibiza, Homelands, Creamfields, wherever. It's so rare that you get so much silliness all on the same album. Judge Jules' mix of the first 3 tracks is inspiring - and anyone who has the sheer nerve to put 9pm(till I come) back to back with 'Better off alone' deserves a medal for bravery. This really is what it's all about. Lots of memories, lots of fun.
