Product ReviewsCustomers have given Agatha Christie: And Then There Were None (PC CD) an average customer review rating of 3.0 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. Not Bad And Then There Were None is a good first attempt to bring an Agatha Christie novel to the PC. Overall, the designers have done a good job and will hopefully take the customer feedback and reviews into account when designing the next novel to be given the PC game treatment. To make the novel translate to a game, an additional character (you) has been created to investigate the murders. The game has only one culprit, but different outcomes are possible. I hope there is a next time, as there aren't that many good detective/mystery games around. I think the developers should be encouraged and reassured that there is a market for these sorts of games. The graphics are good. The rooms in the house have reasonable detail, although the characters themselves can look fairly wooden and fail to elicit any sympathy when they get bumped off. You spend most of your time talking to people and walking from room to room and outside to look for clues and see who's carked it next. There's some fairly aimless running around sometimes and I managed to get lost or disoriented fairly often. It's not necessary to complete all the puzzles and tasks to finish the game, so you can finish it with quite a lot of stuff in your inventory and wonder what it was supposed to do. However, there are certain key things to do or things to collect, without which you can't go further in the game and will have to replay the chapter in question - if you can work out which one(s) they are. I bought the game on special and found it good value for the playing time. Awful This is only adventure game that I have given up on half way through because it was so boring. None of the characters suceed in making an impression on the gamer and there is no real logic to what you are meant to do. There are many excellent adventure games out there, but this certainly isn't one of them. Tedious I was looking forward to this game. As I started the game, for a while I didn't find it too bad! By the end I had got to chapter 3, I had found out I missed a lot out and could not go further. This resulted me to turn to a walkthrough and see where I went wrong - this really annoyed me as I try and avoid looking at a walkthrough when I play a game as I like to work it out for myself - I spoke to everyone I had to and then the game moved me straight onto the next chapter, which I thought for a while was meant to happen! When I got to the point where there was nothing I could do to move further in the game, I looked at a walkthrough and found out I was supposed to go somewhere and collect a load of stuff as well as many other things but I couldn't do that at the time because I bumped into two people and I thought I was supposed to question them and it moved me straight on!! It is really hard to complete without the walkthrough!! Also, I find ridiculous that you have to go round and just check people are sleeping...pointless! So there is a lot of pointless walking around. There are a lot of paths on the island that are annoying and I found myself at times going round in circles, some people may not have had this problem but I got lost plenty of times!!! Overall I don't think that the storyline is disappointing itself, as it's based on a book, but there is just way too much dialogue and is very tedious and I have found no way of skipping it!! The character that you are has a really annoying accent, half english/half american! All the acting is terrible! No-one seems remotely frightened by the fact that people are dropping dead one by one... Although, I did carry on this game all the way to the end and liked the fact that there could be different endings depending on what you did! I would only recommend this game to people who have plenty of time on their hands, patience and don't get bored easily... as I found out fairly soon!! A complete success! Fantastic! Despite the poor reviews I myself have bought and played the game and I thought it was fantastic! The challenges were all interesting, the animation was superb, the story was told well and there was ample scope for sleuthing. Yes, some of the challenges and tasks were tricky and took you a while to work out, but surely that's all part of the fun? Plus there are multiple game endings, some control over who dies and who survives and some atmospheric films that have been beautifully made. In fact the whole game has a slightly glamorous feel, over-shadowed only by the creepiness and eerie quality the setting has. I really enjoyed this game from start to finish, and was completely taken aback by what I was expecting to be a weak ending - for the killer was completely different from the book, and an extremely ingenious choice. I completed this game after about a week and I played it again as soon as I'd finished. And, if you're interested to know the actual ending to the book once you've finished, there's no need to worry. After you've completed the game you have the option to play a final challenge, separate to the main frame of the story. If you can solve the final puzzle you will be shown a finishing film, explaining all Christie's original plot ideas. Overall I would have to say that if you are a Christie (or just a mystery) fan then you should definetly buy this game. Fantastic! I completely disagree with the other reviewers. I am in my 20's and my boyfriend and i spent ages figuring out the puzzles, and it was so much fun. I am a huge agatha christie fan, and particularly of that story...so i felt like i was in the book/movie. I love that it has a different ending to the original, and i would highly recommend this game to any agatha christie fan.
