Product ReviewsCustomers have given Kenwood BM250 Breadmaker, 12 Programs (White) an average customer review rating of 3.5 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. Excellent Value I wasn't sure what to expect with this breadmaker as it's quite cheap but have been over the moon with the results. My 1st attempt went horribly wrong but that was my own fault for just jumping right in rather than reading the instructions - so be warned the ingredients need to be put in the breadmaker in order! Since then I've had excellent results, and it is so simple with such fantastic results that I am no longer buying bread from the supermarket I am making it all myself. If you want a breadmaker buy this one. Makes great bread this is my second breadmaker. My first was £30 from ASDA made great dough but always had that horrible steam- baked texture I thought all breadmakers were like this and wouldn't have bought another but smashed it accidently when moving. My Kenwood totally different story - I like wholemeal with lots of seeds in it and the bread from the Kenwood is wonderful (I use 4/10 wholemeal and 1/10 white which does it for me. the texture is great and the crust is lovely and crisp unlike the other one. I note that several bread maker reviews mention viewing windows and stuff like that. I would remind people that you can lift the lid except in the final stages of baking. I usually make dough as per istructions. add lots of seeds let it mix and then check it if too wet or dry add drops or water or more flour. then let it cook. Downside 1.I have not used it excessively but I am afraid that the clips will go soon which will make it unuseable they are strangely cheaper metal than the rest. 2.I bought it from one of amazon suppliers - the one based in franceand was not impressed at all with the service. This comes with instruction leaflet but NOT a recipe book. so I tried to return it as the cost of book and postage and machine make Comet a cheaper option. (they didnt mention the lack of book in the blurb. 3. The paddle does tend to stick in the bottom which leaves a hole in the bread. but I think they all do this and I will put up with this for the sake of the lovely bread. (better than any you can buy). Final note - there is a reset button if you have hit the wrong button. If you are short, think again ! This was bought as a present for my husband, who has ,of course, passed the actual baking on to me. I would think hard about buying this if,like me,you are short. I cannot see the display at all . Also , it is fiddly to fix the drum in , again because the machine is too high for ease of use. If you don't eat a lot of bread , you may find that even the 750grm. loaf is a bit on the large size. A good even texture, and, of course you have more control over what you eat ! My Second bread maker is a Kenwood I have had my kenwood for about 2 weeks now, and I have made about 7 loaves, as a typical male I first made a loaf without completely reading the instructions. I needed to use water at room temperature not luke-warm as my previous bread machine. However, I have now read and understood the instructions much better and I have made the best bread in the machine with my last 2 loaves. Using bread mixes is a little problem, I have yet to get the good results, that I had with my old machine, but I am sure with a little practice I will get there. Overall it is a great machine, with a lovely stainless steel wrapped outside, easy to clean both inside and out, much better than my previous machine. Home made bread I bought the breadmaker because I had been told that my cholesterol level was too high, so I wanted to keep an eye on the type of fat I ate. The ingredient list of bought bread is somewhat alarming. I bought a 'cheap' machine to try out (but Amazon put up the price a couple of days after I had bought it) - thinking that, if I liked it, I could always go on to a bigger, better, more expensive machine. But I'm more than happy with this one and I won't be getting another to replace it - there is no need. The same slight quibbles as other reviewers though. The display is a difficult to see when the breadmaker is on a standard height worktop and you are somewhat short in height! The recipe book is not too clear and seems very confused between imperial and metric measurements. All the information needed is there though - just not necessarily in the correct order. Try brown seeded bread made with walnut oil!! You will never want to return to buying shop bread. And it's all so very easy.
