Product DescriptionOnce intended as a feature for Johnny Depp, the long-germinating feature film adaptation of Marvel Comics' cult title Ghost Rider stars Nicolas Cage as motorcyclist Johnny Blaze, who transforms into a skull-faced angel of vengeance to battle the forces of evil. Though perhaps a bit too mature for the role, Cage brings a degree of humour to the outrageous proceedings; he's well matched by the Easy Rider himself Peter Fonda, amusingly cast as Mephistopheles, the demon with whom Blaze strikes a bargain to save his father, and in turn, causes his transformation into Ghost Rider. Wes Bentley is also fine as Blackheart, the rebellious offspring of Mephistopheles, and Blazes' chief opponent in the film. They're joined by a solid supporting cast which includes Donal Logue, Eva Mendes, and Sam Elliott, but their participation and a relentless barrage of CGI effects can't hide the fact that the story itself, though largely faithful to its comic origins, is rife with clichéd characterizations and glum B-movie dialogue. Fans of the venerable title may cry foul over this adaptation (as they did over helmer Mark Steven Johnson's previous comic-to-movie feature, Daredevil), but less stringent viewers may enjoy the fiery visuals and Cage's typically quirky performance. --Paul Gaita Image GalleryClick on a thumbnail on the left to view a larger image on the right.

Product ReviewsCustomers have given Ghost Rider - Extended Cut [2007] an average customer review rating of 2.5 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. dissapointing another rubbish film starring nic cage when will he stop appearing in rubbish films like this and next and start acting again.this servicable enough it has good special fx and a couple of well staged set pieces but that it Great fun yet Dark I loved this film, I have to admitt I've never really seen the comics but I loved this movie!!! It's got comedy, romance, horror, tragedy I thought this was all rolled into a good movie. I read one review before I brought this fim and they complained becuase it was unrealistic, no offence but if you knew that the story was about a guy who turns into a soul collecting being with a burning skull for a head you can hardley expect it to be something you'd come across in the street. As for Nick Cage I think his performance was up to his usual standard just another quirky side to him. Quite bad This is the first time I have ever felt compelled to write a review but in this case I felt it was a duty. I had hoped to enjoy this film with a glass of wine as I like Nicholas Cage and have liked other Marvel films like X-Men. But this film was just ridiculous. I kept watching in the hope it would improved but was disappointed. Some impressive special effects but overall something I am glad I watched alone and did not suggest to watch with a group of friends. Blazing good fun! Gosh! Am I the only person who really enjoyed this movie? It was great fun to watch, and Cage was gave a good rendition of Johnny Blaze, a man who made a deal with the devil as a teenager and is now having to pay his dues. He is the Devil's Bounty Hunter and it is his task to hunt down Blackheart and his cronies who are on the hunt for a hidden list that will release a 1,000 evil souls from captivity, thus turning earth into the new Hell. This list has been hidden for many years and legend is, that the previous Ghost Rider ran from the Devil in order to hide it from him, Peter Fonda gives a delicious performance of the Devil Trickster who now holds Johnny's soul in thrall. By far the best is Sam Elliot who plays the Caretaker, a man with a mysterious past who guides Johnny to his destiny, to a showdown with Blackheart in the most evil place in the world San Venganza, for the Caretaker is the Ghost Rider Carter Slade who fled from the Devil himself taking the list of the damned souls with him when he did. My favourite scene is when the two Ghost Riders ride out to the town of San Venganza, Blaze on his firey motorcycle and Slade on his his horse of fire, and the music in the background is fantasic, not to mention the fabulous special effects all the way through the film. This is a good tongue in cheeck movie that is made to entertain, it has some real funny moments that make you laugh out loud and I am surprised it has been panned so much by so many people! All in all a great film, nothing in the way of brain food mind, but what the heck, its nice to have a film that makes your popcorn and coke go down a treat! The Rock, Con Air to name but 2 Nic Cage on a motorbike with his head on fire, this is the whole plot the whole story, buy it if your lobotomy did not take. Stanley Goodspeed would be squirming in his grave, come on Nic give us a decent film we know you can do it.
