Following on from the heady success of albums like Premiere, Second Nature and Living A Dream, Welsh mezzos-oprano and sometime fashion model and music teacher Katherine Jenkins now presents her fourth collection of classically-rendered hymns, arias and pop classics. Serenade seems an understated title for someone with such a soaring voice and dynamic range, yet fans will know Jenkins is more than capable of balancing her operatic cartwheels with moments of real tenderness. This is evidenced immediately on the album's opening track, an elegant version of Bryan Adams' "(Everything I Do) I Do It For You", sung in Italian with Adams himself featured on guitar. The same undulations of quietude and drama unfold throughout the rest of the LP as Jenkins recreates timeless classics such as "Dear Lord And Father", "Lisa Lan", "Chance In A Lifetime" and "O Mio Babbino Caro" with characteristic grace and aplomb. --Danny McKenna

Just fantastic I cannot rate Katherine Jenkins highly enough whether you are a fan of classical music or not you will be captivated by her stunning voice.
This album, like all the others, is brilliant. My own favs are Nella Fantasia, O Mio Babbino Caro and the Flower Duet. She is simply the best mezzo-soprano the UK has produced in recent times and a wonderful asset, as she is able to extend appeal to a much wider audience with her renditions of popular music songs. I am looking forward to seeing her live in Belfast next month and luckily, unlike previous reviewer, I have front row seats.
Heavenly voiced Katherine I bought `Second Nature` on CD, and when I heard Kathrine sing, I was transported to those Welsh valleys! I bought a ticket to go see Katherine in concert at the Sheffield City Hall. Even though I was a fair few rows back, I was captivated by her singing of her and the duet with Garder Thor Cortes. I bought her DVD, watched as this beauty belted out beautiful song after song. I only wish that I was sat closer to the stage.
Excellent music, builds on previous success I believe I am one of Katherine's biggest fans here in Australia and I love every bit of Katherine, her voice, her looks, TV and radio appearances, her efforts to promote her image and more than everything else, her personality. I purchased all her albums to date and the DVD as well.
The music of this 4th CD is great, the voice of this rising star is as great as has always been and still improving.
This CD is highly recommended.
Love It! Up and until now I have very rarely listened to any classical or operatic singing.
Whenever I have seen Katherine Jenkins on TV I have always appreciated her talent.
After seeing the ads on TV I thought I would give the album a try and wow I just love it. I play it constanstly on loop when I'm in the mood to chill while I work. I love the mix of hits and classical classics! I'll certainly be checking out all her past albums!
Plus got to say it - she is so beautiful!
katherine and Hayley I thought Katherine's new CD was amazing. I didn't realise how much talent that woman, and yet she is still so young!! however, i have to say that i found Hayley Westenra's odyssey much better. Hayley has a less harsh, calmer tone to her voice. Overall though, both artists are very talented and although i only have the one CD from each, i have to say they are both my favourites in classical.
