Don't Buy This Don't buy this if you have vista as it will not work with it. Email support is very lacking and not very helpful and the McAfee web site isn't much better. I had a 30 day trial of this software with my new computer running vista and it worked fine, but the full retail version i bought crashed vista. good job i downloaded the removel tool to get rid of it in safe mode.

McAfee woes This programme is fine if it works. My latest and last purchase did not. Support is a joke these people advised that I sought a refund. Not possible via the website as you are sent in an endless loop with NO ACTUAL CONTACT E-Mail address. American support phone numbers are of no use in the UK. Do not even think of purchasing this product. BEWARE of on line purchases as they will bill you annually even if you do not wish to renew. A real cheek for a product that is a joke.

A Bit Top Heavy & Overkill Strengths: Solid Antivirus, Can often be had free after rebate Weaknesses: Heavy on system resources, Medocre tools aside from antivirus. Summary: While the pieces of this product are pretty solid, it suffers from the unfortunate pattern of being overly heavy on system resources. McAfee makes a solid antivitus/antispyware program, so this piece is pretty good. The rest of the tools seems pretty average based on my experience. The bigger complaint is how it likes to hog system resources. If you need a free-after-rebate set of turn-key tools and McAfee has a good rebate promotion, you can consider this. Otherwise, dodge the whole "heavy" internet suite market and buy the individual best-of-breed pieces that you need. Not to be confused with: Fifa 2008 - why are you wondering why ? Same gameplay, same functions, same engine BUT always need a more power hungry PC with each annual upgrade.

WARNING At first I was amazed at how well this new program was working - I hadn`t had any new viruses for nearly a week, and that was pretty good going for me during my `high risk surfing` years. Untill... BANG, it appeared no different in the way it ran, but suddenly in a matter of hours it had induced such massive flooding of my computer with viruses that it froze solid and had to be disconnected at the wall. After weeks of extensive virus treatment and in excess of £200 spent for nothing the computer was up and running again [just about]. It still had a trojan horse or two, but in comparison to what it had during its McAfee peroid this was nothing. I since changed to Norton XP which worked a bit better but be warned: do NOT even think of buying this anti-virus.

software nightmare wow, so much negativity, but thats the way it is. I had my dell laptop about a year ago, it came with mcafee 2006, it worked ok. I had previously been a fan of zonealarm, this seemed to mess my laptop up, tried a variety of individual softwares, again lots of errors and wot not. Who knows what works but after trying what seems to be every security suite known to man, I have reloaded this. So far so good with the 2007 version. For some reason mcafee 2006 seemed to corrupt my hdd and blue screen. Hey ho will carry on with this and see what 2008 has to offer. But overall this a full package, not too much slow down, depending what else I am running, a breeze to set up and good protection overall. i like the maintenance stuff and the back up bit. Overall we need the firewall and antivirus/ spyware to do its job. This seems the case and hopefully mcafee can improve this even more next year.
