Product Description

In a nutshell:
The third Guild Wars campaign is the most sociable of all, in terms of other meeting other people in the massively multiplayer online world and getting help from new virtual heroes.

The lowdown:
Dubbed the world's first co-operative online role-playing game (or competitive, depending on your temperament), Guild Wars manages to distinguish itself from the crowd by moving the focus away from constantly levelling up and focusing it squarely on combat between and against players. This third game in the series is set on the new continent of Elona and features two new classes of character to play as: the long range Paragon and the magical Dervish. Twenty new missions and hundreds of quests are included, in what is more than just an expansion pack even if it's not quite a new game.

Most exciting moment:
The best new element of the game is certainly the new hero characters who you can recruit to join your cause. Unlike the previous nondescript henchmen these are fully customisable in terms of skills and equipment and you can even set them fighting against each other, in special hero vs. hero areas of the game.

Since you ask:
Guild Wars is one of the very few commercially available massively multiplayer online role-playing games not to require a monthly subscription fee. Instead, after you've bought the game itself, it's free to play and publisher NCsoft gets its additional revenues through advertising instead.

The bottom line:
A welcome evolution of one of the most unique online games around.-HARRISON DENT

Can't stop ... too busy playing OK ... As title suggests ... can't stop ... busy playing ... had to review. Excellant game, graphics, storyline, missions, weapons, characters, spells, rewards .... oh you get the picture. Online gaming thats FREE?? incredible how they can do this and still provide a game like this. Been playing 7 months now and I am not stopping so if you will excuse me my Dervish is about to kick some demons ars.... erm .... back-end!

Alright game but WoW is still the daddy ! Again another addition in the Guild Wars saga and again very limited to what you can actually do. The latest Guild Wars installment isnt a bad game, and its worth the sub £[...] you will pay for it as it comes without any monthly subscriptions. However once you have max levelled and completed the quests, the game becomes a little lifeless and there isnt much you can do unless you love PvP'ing and nothing else. However if you can afford the monthly subscriptions that you have to pay in order to play World of Warcraft (£[...] per month), the game is much more in-depth, it is constantly updated so high level players never get bored at PvE and PvP, and finally annoying young kids cant bug the hell out of you as their pocket money doesnt cover it and so they very rarely play it. What with the new expansion pack for World of Warcraft coming out, I know where most of my on-line time will be spent. It is simply a much better and more intense game than any of the Guild Wars installments. Guild Wars is the best Role Playing On-line game of the remaining bad bunch.......

better A good story line with similarities to the 1st release. many missions you can do with your hero's and henchies, but of course it is better if you can find a real person team and enjoy the game more. A sad point is that many PvP areas have been left out of this game, a throw back to the fact Anet supports 'leeching' as exceptable, which caused many players to abandon the factions campaign . on the whole a good improvement, hopefully the next game release will also be accompanied by better customer support to the game, then maybe they will earn top marks

Great game Guild Wars is an excelent game. Easy going, beautiful and fun. I spend hours on first instalment of this game. Made some new friends and played numerous adventures. Then Guild Wars Factions came alive. This was great add on but not as great as original. There was something missing. Maybe that wide and open spaces and teamwork with other online players (in Factions you could pass most of quests with henchies). I just started Nightfall and good feelings from original Guild Wars are back. This game is must have. It gots stunning books and instructions inside the box, amazing graphics, lovely music. And one of the best things this game offer - NO FEES for playing.

A new lease of life. I've played Guild Wars for over 16 months now, and found both the previous campaigns enticing and challenging. Nightfall however is a totally different kettle of fish however. New elites totally change builds, heroes spice up PvE and a new refreshing storyline over factions gives Nightfall fantastic replayability. Despite being experienced, Nightfall's difficulty brought me to the brink of frustration. It's a challenge for experienced and inexperienced alike, with a level of difficulty for each profession. Heroes really add to this, and allow great experimentation in PvE gameplay. Despite the challenge, it feels really good ocne you get to the end and know you've made it, and the end-game greens don't let down, with some fanatastic stats, and plus to that it's a great feeling when you just click with a group and plough through to victory in a mission. Overall, Nightfall is a fantastic edition, and although I wouldn't recommend it as a starting point for a Guild Wars account, it never fails to disapoint, and with a new Elite Realm recently added - the game never fails to amaze and has enough content to play it for months on end.
