Product ReviewsCustomers have given Wait for Me an average customer review rating of 4.0 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. A great debut I bought this CD after booking to see The Pigeon Detectives live without really having heard anything about the band beforehand. It will take a few listens through, but it's full of growers that will stick in your head; in a good way. Although at a glance they can all seem quite samey, the songs do each have their own distinct edge. They're all catchy, simplistic, feel-good tunes, and I'm pleased to say I don't find myself skipping them on my iPod since buying the album. There are plenty of deserving tracks included. Obviously there is a lot of indie and pop influence involved. If you like The Kooks then I think you might like The Pigeon Detectives. It's a solid debut album and I hope the Detectives develop their music along with their new found popularily. Oh, and they were great live! More of the same? So what, enjoy it for what it is! It seems that some reviewers are critisising the 'Detectives' for being 'indie'. What is 'indie'? Is it not just a genre invented by the media? Enjoy this album for what it is - simplistic music made by people who obviously enjoy making it. Not a classic album, nor (IMO) will they make another album worthy of note but so what, we live in an era of throw-away bands. Buy it, Love it, Move on to the next! My most played CD of the year! I have lots of good & great albums but I just can't stop playing this one. Every track is a fantastic, catchy, simple, escapist indie-punk-pop song. I love them all. Lots of energy and as others have said they are great live - I saw them support the Kaiser Chiefs. Where does matt get his energy from? I'm going to see them in May when they are headlining - can't wait! If you want a really good album to sing along and bounce to - buy this one; if you want something different and alternative then buy Radiohead's In Rainbows. You pay your money and takes your choice - I bought both - best of both worlds. And the worse album of the year goes to... 2 years ago I stumbled across a promising band from yorkshire called the pigeon detectives. They showed a lot of promise with the scratchy indie demos they had, however I followed them as they grew and saw them destroyed by the mainstream music industry. This album borders on atrocious, giving the listener nothing but the same song 12 times over. A band that promised to be something special have killed the talent they had by trying to appeal to the "sheep" scene(people that will listen to a certain kind of music because everyone else is). This album lacks depth and every song has been killed by radio 1. The pigeon detectives are so desperate for people to adore them that they're re-releasing "I'm not sorry" for the fourth time. In an NME interview not long back, Matt Bowman (the lead singer, as most people reading this probably adore the pigeon detectives' music because it's seen as cool but actually have no idea who is in the band) claimed that he thought his band had the capabiltiy of being the next Beatles. In the words of Andy Millman, "is he having a laugh?". I can bet any money the next album will be identical to the first. If you want a proper indie band to listen to, try Cajun Dance Party, The More Assured or Spills And Thrills. Proper music; nothing like the complete drivvle you'll find here. class i dont know how people dont rate this album they obviously dont like music and just act like a bell, this band is class its good music feel good music an album u can put on and listen to it without skipping a track there all good singalong tunes and i hope they carry on producing quality music.
