Product DescriptionGiven the chart success of their Grammy-winning country single "Who Says You Can't Go Home," it's no surprise Bon Jovi upped the ante by recording an entire album paying homage to Nashville. In some ways, it's amazing they didn't do this sooner, given the way Keith Urban in particular is blurring country-pop lines, much as Garth Brooks and others did in the 1990s. To their credit, you won't find predictably shallow invocations of past country icons or any self-conscious, in-your-face down-home twang added strictly to remind the listener of the musical premise. In fact, Lost Highway isn't "Bon Jovi goes country" so much as a meaningful tribute to the Nashville ethos done on their own terms. They honor the spirit of the town through 12 simple, direct originals. The intimate, smoldering "(You Want to) Make a Memory," the ballad "Seat Next to You,", "Lost Highway" and its roaring celebration of freedom, and "Stranger," an effective duet with LeAnn Rimes, all invoke country's spirit, and "I Love This Town," an eloquent nod to Nashville itself, ties it together admirably. --Rich Kienzle Image GalleryClick on a thumbnail on the left to view a larger image on the right.

Product ReviewsCustomers have given Lost Highway an average customer review rating of 4.0 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. THE WORST BON JOVI ALBUM YET This is bland, lacking any of the life and rockin' rhythms we expect from this legendary band. It's also very country and that means dull as ditchwater. It seems at some point every US band does a country type album maybe as a fill in until the next great rock release. This albums sold by the bucket load,so I hope this doesn't mean we're going to get more of the same.Bon Jove are a great rock band,no argument, but this is not..sorry! Get Lost in the music I really like this album, it's better than Have a Nice Day by far. From the start to finish it's a album that will have you singing along. Some of the songs do take a few listens to get into them but in general this album will knock your socks off the first time you hear it. The stand out tracks for me are: Lost Highway - has me singing along basking in the glory of the lyrics. Summertime - again a good song to sing along too. You wanna make a memory - a good little slow heart felt song from the jovi. We've got it going on - for me personally this is the highlight of the whole album. It will have you singing along punching your fist in the air and even playing air guitar. It's amazing!! I love this town - great song, easy to sing along to and something that gets you clapping along. It is a quality album which can be listened to from start to finish. Lyrically sound with some great lyrics running through it depicting their troubles of the year previous to recording the album. It's emotionally charged and full of amazing guitar riffs. Don't miss out on this album, you won't regret buying it!! Bon Jovi Have Lost It Bon Jovi are a pretty talented band but they haven't got the same kind of greatness that they had in the 80s and 90s. Don't get me wrong - I do like this album but if you are new to listening to Bon Jovi, I wouldn't get this album as it is not their best. This album is also very soft (generally) so if you are looking for some heavy rockin' you ain't getting it here. Altogether, I would say this album gets three stars. Fantastic Album! Well worth buying! I love this album! There's not a single song on this album that I don't like - I enjoy them all. My favourite tracks are: 1. Lost Highway: Great track - I saw it on telly being performed at the Royal Variety Show and came straight onto Amazon!(see You Tube) 2. Summertime: Starts with a really cool beat similar to Queen's "We will rock you". Very upbeat and uplifting. I can't help myself dancing to this one! 3. (You want to) make a memory: A great ballad. Heard it first on You Tube. 5. We got it going on: I absolutely have to get up and dance when this one is playing! Would love to hear it live. 6. Any other day: An excellent track that will surely appeal to the pop/rock market. I agree with the guy above that this must surely be their next single. 9. Till we ain't strangers anymore: Wow! A very beautiful & intimate duet with Leann Rimes. (See You Tube - a very intimate music video) 12. I love this town: A very cool song! I disagree with the guy who says it has no international appeal. I'm from South Africa and I love this song - makes me long for my home town. Any homesick South Africans, Aussies, Kiwis etc. will love this song! I think this album is great value for money because it's not like the albums where you have to skip over some of the naf tracks - I enjoy every song and think this album has a very wide appeal. Another excellent Bon Jovi release. I don't agree with the negative reviews. This is very very good and gets better with each listen but is not as essential a buy as Have a Nice Day. Bon Jovi do what they do best but adds dome texture to their sound with some country instrumentation. Some of the songs have a modern country influence but I would put it no higher than that. A good example is the ballad with Leann Rimes which is very good. Other highlights include You Want To Make a Memory and a Whole Lot of Leavin'. There are the 'stadium rockers' as well. Bon Jovi sound as good as ever. The production is lively and energetic. Great album and well worth a listen. Submit Your ReviewTo submit your review of Lost Highway you must first login / register.
