Product DescriptionThe artists formerly known as Bridges (vocalist/guitarist Tom Clarke, sticksman Liam Watts, Andy Hopkins on bass) hail from Coventry, where they once won BBC's Coventry & Warwickshire's Band of the Month. Impressive stuff - but not many would have foreseen back then the dizzying pop heights the band would soon achieve; namely a slew of pop savvy tunes ("It's Not OK"; "Away From Here"; "40 Days & 40 Nights"), a deal with legendary Stiff imprint (home to Elvis Costello and Ian Dury), and -- now -- a triumphant debut album. We'll Live and Die in These Towns foams with the same youthful vitality that has informed The Enemy's singles to date, and showcases their key influences: The Stones, The Jam, Oasis among them. The album starts off with the blistering "Aggro," which melds heavy bass riffs and drums with an Oasis-style sing-a-long chorus. Tracks like the chugging "Had Enough" boasts an added catchiness with its doo-wop style backing vocals, while the title track could be considered as something of a Jam tribute. The band veer towards the mediocre with "You're Not Alone" and "Technodanceaphobic," but the stronger material easily overshadows the fillers, making this an accomplished debut. --Danny McKenna Image GalleryClick on a thumbnail on the left to view a larger image on the right.

Product ReviewsCustomers have given We'll Live And Die In These Towns an average customer review rating of 3.5 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. Magnificent The best new band I have heard in years and years ! Highly recommended, Avoid What a boring and uninspiring, unoriginal band. All topped of by the fact they love themselves and think there amazing. If any members of the band are reading this can you please retire. Your joke of a band is over. It's more than O.K. (pretty good) I have just bought this album and I think it is very good to listen to however it is not the most enticing album on the planet. From start to finish the album remained consistently good yet no track really set my candles lighting. A good debut album and hopefulyy they can improve on their first attempt next time round. They have a lot of potential. I reccomend this album if you like Stereophonics, Editors or Arctic Monkeys. Best Track: Had Enough Worst Track: Techdancephobia 8/10. Indie by numbers I bought the album because Aggro sounded like a good tune to have in a playlist, and the good reviews I've been hearing. Then I saw a photo of them and thought "these guys want to be Angry Oasis", and that's basically what they are. Moody, verse-chorus-verse music with very little soul and little skill with instruments. The music is catchy and I doubt there are any songs I'd skip on shuffle, but I don't think I'd be able to play the whole album in one sitting without getting bored. A few good tracks but... that's the lot. I gave it 5 listens then gave it away. The best tracks are on the radio.
