Roxio Easy Media Creator 2009 (PC) (CD-ROM)

Excellent value for money This suite of tools is excellent value for money. The application is very simple to use and allows you burn data discs, movie DVDs, bootable data discs and also allows you to convert DVD video into a multitude of formats such as iPod (as long as you have the required registration with Apple), DivX, PSP and more. As I say, excellent value for money. I personally don't find the suite of tools quite as well featured as Nero, but it's still very good for the money. Well recommended.

Roxio Media Creator Very good product, has everything you need all in one place. The menus are user friendly and are easy to get used to and get up and running. There are similar products around such as Nero, but Im pretty sure you will find Roxio easier to use to get the same results. Roxio also have very good support generally if you do ever find getting stuck or need to update the software The only downside I found is the time it takes to install, even on a new laptop this took way over 30 minutes to install. So if you think it is not installing then you must leave it, as it does appear to stop installing at one point!!

The best is better than ever - very user friendly I had a copy of the original software when I bought a CD rewriter for my office, many years ago. Over the years, I have bought other CD/DVD rewriters and often got a copy of Nero with them. Nero was always good and each version was better than the last but I missed the ease of use of the Creator package. My new laptop came with a copy of Roxio Media Creator. I was very pleased indeed and found the menu system much friendlier than Nero. This new version of the software - 2009 - is another fine improvement. There are so many tabs waiting to be tried, it will take me some time to check them all out, but I will as there looks to be every editing tool I could want. The only criticism I have is the time it took to install. Over an hour on a very fast laptop, but worth the effort. Well done Roxio.

mixing tunes when buring music for friends is ideal for me Ok I burn alot of music, but I normally use iTunes to do so, but listening to some of my friends, the quality is not always outstanding, so I looked at Roxio Easy Media Creator, and I am not disapointed. Creator can be used to copy audio CDs to ymy computer, or copy music from tapes or vinyl records (you'll need to plug in ymy own player in that case). Tracks can be saved in all the major formats, although there is no separate player for listening to the songs. The program can attempt to automatically identify the tracks you save, so you don't have to type in the artist names and titles. The beat-matching feature can help create a mix of music that fades seamlessly with consistent tempo, to keep the mood going, and it didn't take too long to process in my tests. Mixes can then be burned to a CD and how cool is that! Probably the most common things people want to edit are digital photos, and Creator has all the tools for this in one place. Particularly noteworthy is the tool that resizes images so they can be easily emailed, and a batch processing utility, so users can perform repeated tasks easily. There's an Autofix for quickly touching up pictures with problems, although we were disappointed that the photo import utility couldn't remember whether we'd already copied in a batch of photos, so we ended up with duplicates. The photo slideshow creator is powerful and doesn't require much work to create a professional project. The Smartsound feature generates tracks in a variety of styles to fit my photos. It's also easier to share photos online with the Roxio Online sharing service, and videos can also be uploaded directly to Youtube. Video editing is the most complex and most difficult area of media editing but Creator's automatic editor can detect scene changes in imported video, and the comprehensive options are well ordered. Creator 2009 is comprehensive for home users and contains more than most will ever need for editing music, photo and video.

The solution I've been waiting for! This is a first rate package for developing photoshows and doing other things - it is intuitive and therefore easy to use and the consequent results are really professional. The only negative is that initially it takes an age to load on to your PC but given that you only do this once it's hardly worth griping about. Highly recommended (the Ultimate version has enhanced capability around HD etc.)
