Product Reviews

Customers have given Heavy Rain (PS3) an average customer review rating of 4.0 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below.

heavy indeed there is so much written about this game/interactive movie, that it seems pointless rehashing old material. personally i found the renderings superb. initially when the world is ok and a fine place to be the coulors are vibrant and sharp. however, when the mood changes the renderings change to a muted greyness that adds a great deal to the overall vibe. it is far from a perfect package by any stretch of the imagination but there is no denying its greatness. i think the slow start to the game is an essential aspect of the plot. if it had been instant action from the start then i dare say it would have been a little tiresome. like all good stories, of which this is an ok one, there has to be point of reference to contrast change that occurs. having played this game and replayed it til i had completed all endings, i must say it became boring. i avoided all reviews to the game prior to playing it apart from an interview made by the game designer. he stated that no matter what, first time round just roll with whatever happens and dont go back to redo sections that you messed up. sound advice i think. you get your own unique experience that way based upon your personal choices and mistakes (just like in real life, we dont get to go back and redo a section). i dont think i will ever play the game again now i have completed it 100% hence the mid rating. it was a good experience when i first "did" it but there is nothing there to draw me back again. its not like a good movie or a good game that will draw you back for a revisit, it is more like one of those movies that you think, yeh i am pleased to have watched it but i wouldnt buy the dvd. i have given my copy to my nephew offering the same advice about not reading reviews nor changing anything on first run through. i hope he enjoys it too.

Ohyesh! Well, 5/5. Very good game & well made to be honest. Reason why there is no 5 stars for fun is because you couldnt drive. :/ made me unhappy. but other than that. the way this game panned out to reveal the oragami killer was amazing. I would recommed to anyone. :) Crap Review ( first one. ) Sorry. :')

Don your Galoshes Sorry if this review contains any information that people consider to be *spoilers*. This game follows the hunt by four characters (all of which you get to play in turn) for a mass murderer called the Origami Killer. He's a nasty, nasty piece of work who targets little boys as his victims. You start the game as Ethan Mars, at home with his family. The game did get off to an extremely slow start and I thought,"I've been duped here. People saying it's a good game when it's not." And I found the controls quite difficult to master at the start. But it's well worth persevering. You do get used to the controls and the game really does pick up soon. I've got to say, they could have made the characters a bit more different looks-wise from each other. It does take a time to realise who you are playing as. Madison Paige the journalist and Lauren Winter (mother of a victim) look extremely similar and so do Ethan Mars and Norman Jayden (FBI profiler). Ethan and Norman were modelled on two different men apparently but all I can think is those men must have been separated at birth. For about the first hour I thought they were the same guy. I thought Ethan worked for the FBI. Only private eye Scott Shelby has his own distinctive look. If you've ever played Fahrenheit, this game could seem quite similar. But it's a lot more innovative. If you mess up on a chapter and kill one of the characters or you just don't like the way things went, you can exit to the main menu and play that part again. You get to play 4 different characters, Ethan Mars, Norman Jayden, Madison Paige and Scott Shelby. I don't remember actually playing as Lauren Winter, I think she's more just a sidekick for Scott. Norman Jayden posesses a pair of dark glasses and a leather glove which take him into a virtual environment where he can examine evidence without interruption. Don't spend too long in ARI though or it will have dire consequences for Norman. Trust me, that was nasty! Though this game is a bit short it's well worth investing in a copy. It's exciting, challenging, sexy, moving and sometimes a bit gross. Recommended.

The most unique and greatest game i have ever played! Listen to all those who are deciding whether or not to buy this game, BUY IT!, the game is truly immense, the only reason people have rated this game like 1 star or 2 stars. is because they are MW2 junkies who are not intelligent enough to comprehend the absolute beauty of this game.

Amazing game "Heavy Rain" Is an amazing game. It is an outcast on other games it is that good. The storyline and being able to interact with the storyline and be able to change it just by one simple thing it is amazing, It always made me think I was playing in a moive this game is one of the best ive played and I hope there is another one. 5/5
