Product ReviewsCustomers have given Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 (PC DVD) an average customer review rating of 3.5 out of 5. The latest reviews have been displayed below. Would be great if I bought this product from Amazon hoping to organise my collection of 30,000 plus film images after I had scanned them. The product has failed after scanning some 1,500 images with an error message which has been around since version 2. The support is non-existant (it does recommend reinstalling the software. So it would be a gret product if early bugs were fixed and if users could get some support. Sadly this is not the case so it's thumbs down. Just brilliant I have used other Photoshop software and found them not so good, so I was in two minds about this one. For the price of this lates Adobe 8, I think is brilliant. I am sure that if anyone is thinking of buying a Photoshop software to enhance their photos this would not let them down. I also buy the magazine called Digital Photo and they give a free CD to show how to use this Adobe software. Go for it! How could Adobe do this? As a mac user I have been using Elements 6 happily for nearly two years and Elements 4 before that and did recommend them to all and sundry. Version 8 may have some small but important improvements but for keen photographic hobbyists the whole program is rendered useless by the changes to the printer interface. You can no longer reposition the image on the paper prior to printing. It means you cannot make several small test prints on a single sheet. You cannot move an image up a little if you want smaller image on a larger piece of paper. You cannot off-set an image to one corner so as to utilise the remaining paper for test strips. There are other irritations in the new printer interface like not being able to find paper profiles that v.6 used and not being able resize by by dragging the image out or in, but they are rendered insignificant by that loss of ability to move the image. Why oh why have they done this? What use to buy this new version if you have to use the old version to print? OK, if just want a central print every time then you will doubtless tolerate the other irritations but for the serious amateur the efficacy of Elements has been destroyed. Easy to use and quite an upgrade. Purchased this product to upgrade my rather old Adobe Photoshop Elements 5. I must say I am not disappointed as this new version has a lot of easy to use built-in functions for quick adjustments of your photos as well as a vast host of deeper editing functions. Also the new "HDR light" (PhotoMerge) gives reasonable results quickly. Very good value for money. Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 I upgraded to Elements 8 from Elements 2 and Album 1, so I was expecting a few problems, but apart from losing a few collections I was delighted that all of my photos ported over without a hitch. It will take several months use to fully review this product, but so far I'm pleased with the results, especially with the editor and the quality of the end product. Although Elements 8 is far more intuitive than before I would still recommend purchase of a good book to accompany the software, Scott Kelby's book for example.
