The Fame Monster (Audio CD)

Fame Monster We all know Lady Gaga is great and this CD proves it. All the tracks, including a number of her top 10 titles are superb. Well recommended.

Definitive This album, besides being phenomenal value for money, is definitive in three ways. The first is that it is quite simply off the wall, utlra creative pop - you can trace the ancestry, but the offspring is a genetic sport; she just doesn't give a damn about anything but the music and the performance. And that's the second way, which is really sad, because she is going to destroy herself in the pursuit of the perfect album; this is so close to it, that finding the extra 2-4% is going to kill her. And the third reason is that whoever has produced this album has put together the best treatments of all of these tracks and my feeling is that the album represents a unique collection of talents; Gaga's foremost, but the audio production matches her creativity. Not since Oral Fixation (four years ago) have I heard anything of this quality and this is more than a match. No higher praise. "Teeth" should have a 16 certificate, it's so grungily sexy; contrast that with "Boys, Boys, Boys", probably the most perfect pop driving song written. Please, please, can we have a DVD video version of this; because as plastic and capable as her voice is, so, at this stage of her career is Gaga in form and face. Like the ancient priestesses of Pythia, she can make herself all things to all men. Unbelievable. Probably the best pop singer in my lifetime (and I'm nearly 60!).

Don not listen to the lyrics Catchy tunes but listening to this in the car I noticed my daughter (9) singing 'I like it rough' and 'I touch myself all night long' Not really what most parents want to hear! Guy

If she's so Gaga, why is the music so middle of the road? Can't get my head around this. Music is as easy on the ear as Madonna's, perhaps easier (Madonna shrieks too much), but for someone who is so original in appearance, the music just isn't. Don't get me wrong, sometimes it's all you need for background playing, I purchased it well aware I wasn't going to get more and I'm not going to claim my money back. But such a missed opportunity.

Needs Originality It's time "Lady Gaga" looked inside herself and see if she has anything original to offer. Listening to her music, one realizes that they have heard it before...on a Madonna CD. Look at "Alejandro." It's "La Isla Bonita," except instead of "Fernando," it's now "Alejandro" backed up by Gaga's marching hermaphrodite army.
